This is Shelby at Dennis the Menace park in Monterey. It was her first time there and she loved it! It was a childhood favorite of my own so I am so happy that I get to share it with her.

Since we were already in Monterey, we decided to get a membership for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This was Shelby's first time and she liked most of it but we quickly learned that she doesn't like to crawl in small spaces. We are very happy she has now overcome that fear and crawls through everything! :-)

We actually have this picture on our front door. It's to warn people of our rabid child. :-) Shelby is quite the handful on a good day and here is a bit of her personality showing through.

Shelby's first trip to the Zoo! We went with a group of friends and Shelby was very excited to see all the animals! She didn't know the names at the time but is quickly learning them now.

Santa Cruz is one of our favorite places to go and here is Shelby at her Grandma's house on a walk down by the beach. :-) We took a little break to sit on a log.

Shelby loves the ocean and she loves to go fast. What better way to combine the two then to go skateboarding by the beach! :-)

Geoff isn't the only one with a Jeep! :-)

One of Shelby's honorary uncles came to visit and she decided to climb in to his steering wheel.

Our little family at a friends wedding

Shelby and Geoff are both adrenaline junkies. :-) She loves to go for rides on the 50.

Shelby getting ready to go jump in some puddles! Bring on the rain!

Shelby on one of our many jeep crusades! She is a jeeper at heart and is ALWAYS looking for a way to get her daddy to take her for a spin. :-)

Halloween was never something I celebrated growing up but something I always wished I could participate in. The candy, the outfits, the haunted houses...so much fun! This was Shelby's 2nd Halloween and she really go to enjoy it this time!

Shelby's first 4-Wheeling trip! This was so much fun! Geoff and I bought a family tent a few months back that he calls "The Mansion," and we had SO much fun living in it for a few days. Shelby even had her own room! :-) AND her own bed. She actually slept more soundly camping then she does at home! I think it was because it was so cold, she was afraid if she moved she'd lose the heat in her sleeping bag.

Here are Shelby and her friend Adalyn playing "Musical Car Seat" at the campsite.

Shelby and I made a special trip to Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco to meet up with my parents. This was Shelby FIRST ice cream cone! Oh, it was soooo yummy!

Potty training has been an on-going thing since Shelby was 9 months old. Progress is good but consistency on my part is not so good. Hopefully she'll be fully potty trained by her 2nd birthday!

Shelby loves trying to ride the tricycle. We're considering buying her a bike for her birthday. She's very good at pushing herself with her feet and trying to pedal. :-)

CHRISTMAS! Shelby's 2nd christmas was a big hit! She got a lot of stuff and had a blast opening them all. :-)

The damage...lol. The house was a WRECK after she opened all her gifts. :-)

Shelby is now on the big girl swing! yay!

Shelby and her best bud Adina enjoying a little car ride with the cat in the hat!

She loves all the rides at westgate. :-)

Shelby and a very pregnant me. :-) We're hoping that her brother Jackson will be making an appearance soon.

The Jeeps. Even Shelby has her Jeep outside! :-)

This is what happens when Geoff gets bored...

Shelby helping me wash dishes :-)

She's a big fan of the kids play area at the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Shelby and her 2 best buds, Ezekiel and Adina. We got to the park with them almost everyday (unless it's raining)

Shelby and Adina at their Gymnastics class! One of the best things I've ever done for Shelby. Her Grandma signed her up and goes with us! :-)

One of our many park days. Lily, Adina, Shelby and Me! :-) Ready to pop.
Okay, so that in a really long picture blog is the last 8 months. I'm sorry I haven't been good at updating. Life has been hectic.
Shelby is almost 20 months now and she is a very bright girl. She is very good at climbing anything and jumping off of everything. She has a growing vocabulary that seems to be getting a lot more precise. When she used to say "Thank you" it was more like "T You." Now she is starting to enunciate. And she understands a lot. You can ask her anything and she'll answer you yes or no or some other short answer. She's also learning how to clean up and put things away. She doesn't always do it but she knows how. :-) She is very independent and strong willed.
At Gymnastics she is learning how to follow rules. She has to follow in line with the other kids and go through various obstacles. Her favorite has to be the trampoline...but she is also a big fan of the foam pit and the balance beam. On some of the wider balance beams she can walk across completely on her own. :-) She has been practicing her somersaults as well. If you tell her to put her head down she will attempt to do a somersault on her own. Those are usually crooked but with assistance, she is a pro. :-)
Our little girl is growing up so fast. She will be a big sister any day now! Jackson should be here soon...I hope. :-) I'm 40 weeks tomorrow so if he doesn't come on his own, we'll have to evict him! hahahaha!
I hope you all enjoyed the Shelby slide show. :-)
