Herman and Nancy (aka Grandpa and Grandma) arrived on July 24th and leave tomorrow July 29th.
Here is a little summary of the events we attended. :-)
Thursday - Thursday evening they came over and got to meet their little Shelby. We just hung out at home and caught up on what's been going on in our lives.
Friday - We went to the GARLIC FESTIVAL!!! It was a lot of fun. We arrived there around 10 a.m. and took a shuttle bus to the festival. It was HUGE! We spent a lot of time walking around and looking at all the little booths and we ate lots of food with TONS of garlic! The garlic fries were SPICY! haha! We all got a lot of sun but all in all it was a blast. After we got home, we all took a nap and then headed out to RED ROBIN! I was so stoked because...RED ROBIN HAS BOCA BURGERS!!! Woohoo!! Being vegan can be a challenge when eating out. But I've discovered that many of my FAVORITE restaurants have Boca Burgers!
Saturday - We went to the Parade of Sails in San Francisco! I LOVE old boats and we had a lot of fun walking around and taking pictures and boarding all the cool boats. I seriously haven't seen SF that crowded in a LONG time. It was definitely stop and go traffic if you were walking. We had some Fish and Chips (I of course just had fries, lol) and we got to check out Pier 39. The weather was absolutely spectacular! It was sunny and a little breezy and at least 70 degrees (if not more).
Sunday - HOLLISTER HILLS BABY!!! We had soooo much fun! I've never seen two people have more fun! Herman and Nancy were just lovin it! :-) And of course Geoff was having a blast giving them the ride of their lives. Shelby and I got to chill at the camp area and hang out. We've got tons of pics too!
Monday - Day trip to Monterey! Monterey was overcast but beautiful as always. We enjoyed the drive and were salivating over the artichokes before we even entered town. :-) We drove to Cannery Row and did some shopping and I introduced my in laws to Dip and Dots ice cream! They really enjoyed it too! Then we headed to Fisherman's Wharf and got some food. (They had the best home made root beer called Sparky's) After Monterey we stopped by an Artichoke stand and got some Artichokes. Then we headed home for some naps and went to dinner at El Amigo Burrito.
Tuesday - So far nothing has happened but our plan is to go to the Winchester Mystery House. :-) I'll keep you posted.
