There is no one quite like her

Shelby is amazing. A day doesn't go by where I am not reminded of this. She can be the sweetest, kindest, most loving kid ever and then the next second be a ball of hormones. haha. My days are never boring.

One thing we do know for sure is that she LOVES Jackson. She is always seeking him out, trying to hold his hand, help him walk, pushing him, hugging and kissing him, etc.

On another note, Shelby is going to bed much easier. She does occasionally end up in our bed but that's my own fault. Jackson's been teething pretty bad and so he wakes her up and goes to Daddy so i just climb in her bed with Jackson and try and get some more sleep.

Shelby's vocabulary is growing! She is adding so many new words. One of the funniest to me was when we were in Costco and she saw the Tinkerbell movie and she yelled out, "TINKERBELL!" HAHA! I can honestly say that I had NO clue she even knew who Tinkerbell was! It was halarious! And today she said, "Mommy, i want to see Dory." So we put on Finding Nemo and she fell asleep watching Dory. Too cute.

She's growing like a weed. She's already 37 inches tall (just over 3 feet!) At this rate she's going to pass me up before she's 10!

Shelby isn't a baby anymore

Shelby is 100% hellion (aka toddler). She's such a sweet heart but is VERY independent. If I ask her for something and she doesn't want to give it to me she says,"No Mommy." She's so calm about it too. She thinks it's a completely reasonable thing to say. It does get very annoying at times though.

Shelby LOVES Toy Story. So if any of you ever want to make her super happy, get her something with Toy Story on it. We went grocery shopping and they had Sara Lee wheat bread with toy story on it. i got it and she was a happy camper. :-)

So the potty training is still going. She's only in diapers at night now and that's because she pees so much at night. I have no idea how I'm going to get her to stop going so much at night. hmmm....

This weekend is the first weekend Geoff and I are leaving BOTH kids with Grandma and Grandpa Reed. :-) I'm excited to finally have some time to relax but then I'm also sad because I love my kids and I genuinely enjoy their company. I'm also nervous because it'll be the first time Jackson won't see me for more than an hour or two and it's the first overnighter for both the kids. Also, i'm worried for my parents. My kids are a handful and I'm used to it. It's been a while since they've had to deal with hellions. Well maybe not. They do take care of Barrett and Forte. Okay, i feel better now. :-)

June Adventures

There are so many updates for June. Let's see if I can get them all in order.

MARY GRADUATED!!! WOOO!!! We've all been waiting for this day for so long! And it was SOOO exciting! The Mendoza's got Mary her awesome cake which I know we all enjoyed. ;-)

Shelby and I decided to do Father's Day a little different this year. We decided to do it about 3 weeks early. :-) We first baked him peanut butter cookies which Shelby added a special touch to. haha! She dumped in an entire container of SPRINKLES! The cookies were very crunchy. hahahaha! We also made cornbread and a Chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. SUPER YUMMY!

I ran my first 5k!!!! Shelby and Jackson were there with me which just made it so much more special. :D My first 5k was their first 5k! I'm so excited to do more! I want to do a 10k next! I wish I had a picture to show you of how I ran with them. I had Jackson in the single stroller and had Shelby sitting on the handlebars. :-) People were looking at us so funny and cheering us on too! So much fun!

We went to Angels Camp and had some nice vacation time! I always love hanging out with my parents! And then the next day Andrea and the boys joined us. 4 babies is ALWAYS better than 2. :-) hahaha! We all had so much fun though. We all took a trip to Yosemite and definitely enjoyed the gorgeous views! Mary even did some running (she and I were racing!). I hope to go back one day and climb to the top of Half Dome. :-)

Yesterday was another photo shoot. My favorite! It was our first shoot with Jackson and sure enough he delivered many devilish smiles. :-) I can't wait to get the pics! I'll make sure and post them up. Shelby started chasing ducks around the marina (Marina Vista Park) and fell in the water a couple times. She's really good and holding her breath when she falls in water! :-) It was so much fun!

Anyways, my baby girl is going to be 2 any day now and it makes me reminisce. Only 2 short years ago I was SUPER PREGGO! haha! I was hating life and loving it all at once. Mary was hanging out with me and keeping me company during the hot summer. My memories are so clear. Good Times.

She's almost 2!

My little angel is growing up so fast!
She will be two next month and I don't know what I'm going to do! She's my baby! hahaha! We're planning a small party here and I'm excited to finally get to utilize our backyard. :-) She's almost potty trained and she's using so many new words. Her friends Adina and Ezekiel live with us now (and their awesome mommy Lily) and so Shelby always has playmates now. :-) She is one helluva hellion though. hahaha!

A baby brother!

Shelby is a big sister now! She is SUCH a good big sister too! Shelby has always been extremely active and slightly crazy but some things have calmed down now that there are TWO!! Shelby actually sleeps 11 to 12 hours at night now! :-) Jackson sleeps about 5 to 6 hours at night and only wakes up about once a night. I sleep better now than I did before Jackson was born! One thing that was fun at first was that Shelby refused to take a nap unless she could sleep with Jackson. Now that he's been around for a few weeks she's gotten over it. She sleeps in her bed now during nap time or wherever she happens to pass out. :-)

Shelby is always looking for an excuse to hold him. Another funny thing is that Shelby and Jackson are identical twins!!! lol. j/k. but they sure do look it!


Shelby loves her cousins! We've been making lots of trips to Sacramento since Jackson was born so Shelby has been really getting to know Barrett and Forte. :-) She's a little crazy though!


One of the BIGGEST accomplishments Shelby has done recently is potty training! WOO! She's almost done. She can take naps now without wearing a diaper and doesn't wet the bed! And she runs around the house pretty much naked ALL the time because that's the best way to remind her to go pee. :-)
